“I live in Ramle. Painting mostly in acrylic on canvas or coal and pencils on paper. The acrylic works in this exhibition are part of a series of paintings of leaders and activists from the Ethiopian community who contributed to the migration of Ethiopian Jews to Israel. Ferede Aklum – a Mossad agent who was the first to find and walk the way from Ethiopia to Sudan and set the path for many others who later followed. Asresu Getu – graduated from nursing school. In Sudan, she joined the Red Cross and treated Ethiopian Jews in the camps, rescuing many lives.”
